[In the left margin] 183 Item: I give my Wife one Hundred Pounds Current Money Item: I give & bequeath to my son Henry Taylor my plantation whereon James Railey now lives both with about 700 acres land adjoining is to be divided from my other land as I have in formed Miles Cary & my son William Taylor also the Eight following Negro's Pompy, Caesar, Joshua, Merriam, Hannah, Jamey, Little Harry & Hannibal and one Hundred and fifty Pounds Current Money to the said Henry Taylor and his Heirs for ever - Item: I give & bequeath to my Son Kinchen Taylor after the Death of his Mother the plantation whereon I now live with all the Land Adjoining the said Plantation on the south side of the Lightwood Swamp being 950 acres also my Water Grist Mill with 10 acres Land Adjoining the said Mill on the other side of the Swamp and the Eight following Negro's Harry, Long John, Judy, Jack, Nan, Will, Charles, & Ned and one Thousand and fifty Pounds Current Money to have & to hold the said land & Mill after the Death of his Mother to the said Kinchen Taylor and his Heirs for ever the Negros & Cash immediately on my dea Item: I give & bequeath to my son Etheldred Taylor my plantation Called Howell with 230 acres land adjoining the said Plantation also 130 acres land purchased of Matthew Revell and the Eight following Negros Jamey, Phillis, Robin, young Tom, Guy, Betty, Jacob, & Sarah Nan's Child to him and his Heirs for ever Item: I give & bequeath to my son John Taylor my plantation called the Indian Town with all the land I hold there at- together with the Eight following Negro's T?ees, Tom, Jenny, Peter, Janey, Phillis's Child, Phill, Sarah & Toney to him and his Heirs for ever Item: I give & bequeath to my son James Taylor my Plantation at Meherrin with and the Land I hold Adjoining the said Plantation Eight following Negro's Sam, Moll at Home, Moses, Grace, will, Janey's Child Solomon, Ben, Roger and Rachell to him and his Heirs for ever [In the left margin] 184 Item: I give & bequeath to my son Henry the plantation whereon William Drury is now Overseer with all the Lands I hold there ???? my son Henry has his ?aid of also the seven following negros young Sam, Lew, Joe, Isaac, David, Ben, Jany's child, Cate & sixty pounds Current Money to him and his Heirs for ever. Item: I give to my son William Taylor twenty five pounds. Item: I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Cary twenty five pounds. Item: I give to my Daughter Mary Taylor one negro girl known by the Name of Annakey & three hundred Pounds Current money to her and her heirs for ever. Item: My will and desire is that if either of my sons Henry, Kinchen, Etheldred, John, James, or Richard should die under age or without Issue that all the lands and Slaves heretofore given to them and all the other Estate hereafter given to such Child or Children dying as aforesaid be Equally divided among such of my sᵈ sons as shall survive & their Heirs for ever. Item: I give and bequeath all the remainder of my Estate of What Nature or kind so ever or wheresoever found to be equally divided between my four sons Etheldred, John, James, & Richard Taylor & their Heirs. And Lastly, I hereby appoint my wife, my son William Taylor & my son in law Miles Cary Exors of this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made.
